This presentation will introduce an experimentally verified circular solution for a green roof combining a rooftop constructed wetland wastewater treatment system with a semi-intensive green roof. The system, tested at UCEEB CTU, uses pre-treated wastewater to irrigate the vegetation and for its further treatment. At the same time, the results of the development and testing of the reCihli® substrate, based on recycled materials and intended for use in the green roof build-ups, will be presented.

He works at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU in Prague, and at the University Centre for Energy-Efficient Buildings (UCEEB) at CTU, where he leads the Urban Ecohydrology team. His research focuses on processes in man-made soil systems and their application in the development of functional and sustainable blue-green urban infrastructure.
