This presentation will demonstrate that the main obstacle to nature-based solutions in cities may not be a lack of water, but rather the way in which we manage it in urban areas. Using Mediterranean regions as an example, it will highlight the importance of rainwater harvesting, infiltration, subsurface retention, evapotranspiration and decentralised water storage. In the context of the GoNaturePositive project, it will link these topics to the vision of nature-positive buildings that actively contribute to regulating the urban water cycle.

As Director of Neoturf, he has implemented hundreds of projects involving green roofs, vertical gardens and landscape architecture. He is the founder of ANCV – the Portuguese Green Roof Association.
