How not to get burnt by green roofs: fire safety of green roof systems

How to avoid getting burnt by green roofs? Ideally, not at all. Other countries already have a solution, and a Czech methodology has now been developed. The lecture will present the legislative perspective, experiences from the Czech Republic and abroad, and will show when green roofs can pose a risk and how to prevent it. The methodology sets out requirements for the green roof build-up, layout, firebreaks and barriers, as well as subsequent maintenance, so as to minimise the risk of fire starting and spreading – ensuring the roof remains green, rather than red or black.
