Biodiverse green roofs: an opportunity not to be missed

This presentation will highlight the importance of green roofs in supporting biodiversity in cities. Alongside the basic principles of creating biodiversity-rich green roofs, we will present the findings of several studies demonstrating the importance of green roofs for pollinators. Green roofs can provide both food and shelter for pollinators and, in some cases, offer ecological value comparable to that of ground-level habitats. The presentation will also include examples of biodiversity-friendly roofs implemented in the Czech Republic.
