Karel Dohnal

ACO

Karel Dohnal is a graduate of Biomedical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague and works at ACO, a global leader in drainage systems. Guided by the “ACO WaterCycle” philosophy, ACO delivers solutions that enable water not only to be collected and conveyed, but also treated, stored and ultimately reused. Karel Dohnal leads a team of experts at the ACO Research and Technology Centre in Tábor, focusing on material innovations and the development of technologies for stormwater treatment.

TOPIC:

Rainwater in Water Features: Effective Pre-treatment Methods

Karel Dohnal will focus on pre-treatment methods for stormwater using hydrodynamic separation systems and technical filters employing filtration and adsorption media. He will assess their suitability for different types of water features as well as their effectiveness in removing specific categories of pollutants.

The lecture will reference relevant European standards, including the Czech technical guideline TNV 75 9011 and the forthcoming Czech standard (ČSN), complemented by quantitative and qualitative specifications of the technical solutions presented.
